Tata International to Invest $100 Million in JVs
Imagine a big company, Tata International, that wants to become even bigger.
They're joining forces with two other companies, Mitsubishi and Mercuria.
They're investing $100 million total.
The first partnership with Mitsubishi is to sell trucks, construction, and farming equipment in Africa.
The second one with Mercuria will trade in energy, metals, and other goods.
This should help Tata International grow and compete globally, but it also has its risks.
Tata International will invest $100 million in joint ventures with Mitsubishi Corp. and Mercuria.
A JV with Mitsubishi Corp. is planned for a multi-brand distribution business in Africa, with Tata holding a 51% stake.
Another JV with Mercuria will engage in physical and derivatives trading of commodities.
Tata International's revenue doubled in the last five years, but profitability is a challenge.
Tata Sons increased its stake by 13.33% in Tata International Ltd to 66.85%.
