BYD to Launch EV Assembly Plant in Pakistan by 2026
Imagine a big car company from China called BYD.
They make electric cars and want to sell them in Pakistan!
They're building a factory near Karachi to put the cars together.
This will start around 2026.
They're working with a Pakistani company called Mega Motor Company.
The factory should be able to build a lot of cars each year.
BYD is already selling some of their electric cars there, like the Seal and Atto 3.
They want to sell a lot of cars in Pakistan first and then maybe sell them in other countries where people drive on the left side of the road.
BYD, a Chinese EV maker, will begin local assembly in Pakistan in mid-2026.
The assembly plant is being built near Karachi in partnership with Mega Motor Company.
The plant aims to produce 25,000 EVs annually initially.
BYD is already importing and selling EVs, including the Seal and Atto 3, in Pakistan.
BYD plans to initially focus on the Pakistani market before expanding to other right-hand drive countries.
