Rajasthan Schools: Students to Choose Instruction Medium in 2025
In Rajasthan, students in government schools will soon get to choose whether they want to study in English or Hindi.
This is part of a new plan to follow the rules of the National Education Policy.
The goal is to give kids more choices and make sure everyone can learn in the way that suits them best.
Some schools had fewer students because of the way classes were set up, but the new plan aims to fix this.
Girls in particular will have the option to continue in Hindi medium schools at the local level.
The government is also working to make sure there are enough teachers and resources, like sharing teachers between schools and giving extra pay when needed.
Rajasthan government schools will offer students a choice of instruction medium starting in 2025-26.
The decision aligns with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
Enrollments in English medium schools were reported to be lower due to limited seats in lower grades.
Hindi medium education will be preserved, with options for girls at the gram panchayat level.
Plans include addressing teacher shortages through shared resources and additional compensation.
