Chhattisgarh to Create Digital Records of Martyred Security Personnel
The government of a place in India called Chhattisgarh wants to remember brave soldiers who died fighting in a region called Bastar.
These soldiers were fighting against a group called the Maoists, who are also known as Naxals.
The government is going to create special digital records about these heroes.
The records will cover the last 26 years, starting from the year 2000.
People will be able to see these records by scanning QR codes at new memorials.
The memorials will be set up at different places in Bastar.
The idea is to help children and future generations learn about the sacrifices these soldiers made.
The records will also show how the families of the soldiers suffered when they lost their loved ones.
So far, 1,280 soldiers have lost their lives in these battles between 2000 and 2026.
This is the first time something like this is being done.
The Chhattisgarh government will create digital records of security personnel martyred in anti-Naxal operations in Bastar in a first-of-its-kind initiative.
The records will cover the period from 2000, when the state was formed, up to the present day.
Members of the public will be able to access the records through QR codes displayed at memorials proposed to be established across Bastar.
The initiative aims to make future generations aware of the sacrifices made by police officers and jawans of Central Para Military Forces against Leftwing Extremism.
A total of 1,280 security personnel were slain in Naxal attacks and counterinsurgency operations in Bastar between 2000 and 2026.
Work on the digital records has already started, according to an official spokesman.
