Manchester United reports first-quarter loss
Manchester United, a famous soccer team, recently announced that they lost money in the first three months of their financial year.
This is because they didn't make as much money from TV deals and ticket sales since they're not playing in big European tournaments this season.
They also spent less on player and staff salaries because they made some people leave their jobs.
The team's boss said they're trying to make the club better in the long run.
They still plan to make a lot of money by 2026 and are building a new, very big stadium.
Some fans are unhappy because the team isn't doing well in games and tickets are getting more expensive.
Manchester United reported a net loss of 6.6 million pounds for the first quarter, compared to a profit of 1.4 million pounds last year.
Total revenue fell by 2%, and player and staff wages decreased by 8.2% due to job cuts.
The club is implementing cost-saving measures after six years of financial losses.
Manchester United maintained its revenue forecast of 640-660 million pounds and core profit of 180-200 million pounds for fiscal 2026.
The absence from European competitions has reduced broadcasting revenue and increased financial pressure, leading to criticism from supporters.
