Marizanne Kapp Challenges Anaya Bangar's Australian Cricket Eligibility

Anaya Bangar is a transgender cricketer who wants to play women's cricket in Australia.

Cricket Australia reviewed her case under its transgender and gender-diverse player policy.

It has allowed her to play Community Cricket, including Premier Cricket.

This permission is not the same as being selected for a professional team.

From March 2027, she may be eligible for elite cricket if she meets the policy's testosterone requirement.

Marizanne Kapp strongly disagrees with the decision.

Bangar says the pathway balances fairness, inclusion and competitive integrity.

She also says she wants to earn a place by playing well and to encourage a better-informed discussion.
