Sharma, Sandhu Face Tough Start at Nexo Championship
Shubhankar Sharma and Yuvraj Sandhu played their first round of golf in Scotland.
The weather was difficult because strong winds made the course harder to play.
Sharma finished with a score of one over par and shared 38th place.
Sandhu finished three over par and shared 62nd place.
Marcus Kinhult of Sweden played the best round, scoring five under par.
He made seven birdies and two bogeys.
Sharma was six shots behind Kinhult.
Sandhu needed to improve in the next round to have a better chance of making the cut.
Shubhankar Sharma shot a one-over 73 and tied for 38th after the opening round.
Yuvraj Sandhu carded a three-over 75 and was tied for 62nd.
Strong winds and exposed course conditions made scoring difficult at Trump International Golf Links.
Sweden’s Marcus Kinhult led with a five-under 67, two shots clear of the chasing group.
Sharma was six shots behind the leader, while Sandhu needed a much-improved second round to approach the cut line.
