Bajaj Finance Raises FD Rates After RBI Repo Hike
Bajaj Finance has increased the interest it pays on some fixed deposits.
The new rates start on October 7.
The change came after the Reserve Bank of India raised its main interest rate.
People putting in fresh deposits can earn up to 7.75% on longer deposits.
Senior citizens can earn up to 8.15% on those deposits.
Customers renewing a deposit can get an extra 10 basis points.
With that bonus, the top rates are 7.85% for regular customers and 8.25% for senior citizens.
Deposits can pay interest at the end or at regular intervals.
Bajaj Finance says it raised rates more on longer-term deposits so customers can lock in returns for as long as five years.
Bajaj Finance raised fixed deposit rates by 15–40 basis points for tenures of 12–60 months, effective Oct. 7.
The increase followed the Reserve Bank of India raising its repo rate by 25 basis points to 5.50% and adopting a calibrated-tightening stance.
For fresh deposits, regular customers can earn up to 7.75%, while senior citizens can earn up to 8.15% on 31–60 month deposits.
Renewing a maturing deposit adds 10 basis points, taking the maximum rates to 7.85% for regular customers and 8.25% for senior citizens.
Bajaj Finance said it focused increases on longer tenures, and offers cumulative or regular-payout FD options.
