IMD Warns of Heavy Rain Across States; Delhi Forecast
The weather office has warned that many parts of India may get very heavy rain.
Central and eastern states could receive some of the strongest showers.
Several northeastern states may also see torrential rain.
Delhi and nearby areas are expected to stay cloudy with light to moderate rain on Sunday.
Some heavier showers could happen in Delhi-NCR.
Low-lying roads may fill with water, causing traffic problems.
People are being asked to check traffic updates and avoid flooded intersections.
The rain is important because India has had less monsoon rain than usual, which has affected crops.
The India Meteorological Department has warned of heavy to exceptionally heavy rain across central, eastern, northeastern and northwestern states.
Chhattisgarh, East Madhya Pradesh, East Uttar Pradesh and Odisha may receive exceptionally heavy isolated downpours.
Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland are also expected to face torrential rain.
Delhi-NCR and Ghaziabad are forecast to see overcast skies with light to moderate rain and isolated heavy spells on Sunday.
Waterlogging may affect low-lying areas, including parts of the Delhi-Meerut Expressway, NH-9 underpasses, Indirapuram and Sahibabad.
