NCB secures fugitive drug kingpin Basoya's return from UAE: Shah
There was a man named Virender Singh Basoya.
The police say he led a big group of people who sell illegal drugs.
He ran away to a country called the United Arab Emirates, far from India.
Special officers from the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), India's drug police, found him in Dubai and brought him home on an Air India flight.
A very important leader named Amit Shah, who helps keep India safe, told everyone the good news.
He said the government will keep hunting drug criminals no matter where they hide.
He also said the government wants to destroy the whole network of people who help these criminals.
The officers caught Basoya by watching the criminal network from top to bottom and bottom to top.
Now he will have to face the law in India.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced that the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has secured the return of fugitive drug kingpin Virender Singh Basoya from the UAE.
Shah said the Modi government is 'relentlessly tracking down drug traffickers hiding abroad and destroying their entire ecosystem with a ruthless approach.'
He described the development as a 'new milestone' in the government's policy of zero tolerance against narcotics.
Basoya, accused of masterminding an international drug syndicate, was brought from Dubai to India on Air India flight 4310 after an NCB Red Corner Notice led to his arrest in Dubai.
Basoya is an accused in the Pune drug case involving narcotics allegedly worth Rs 6,000 crore and is considered close to Sandeep Dhunia, main accused in a Delhi Police drug case worth around Rs 13,000 crore, who reportedly travelled from Dubai to Pakistan.
