Seawoods Woman Allegedly Loses ₹1.22 Crore In Occult Fraud
A woman in Seawoods told police that a couple took a large amount of her money.
The couple allegedly said they had supernatural powers.
They reportedly warned that black magic could hurt or kill members of her family.
They said special rituals were needed to keep the family safe.
The woman allegedly paid them money for almost eight years.
She reportedly used money from selling jewellery, land and her shop.
She complained after the couple continued asking for more money.
Police have registered a case and are trying to find the couple in Uttar Pradesh.
A 56-year-old Seawoods woman allegedly paid ₹1,22,58,000 to a Uttar Pradesh couple over nearly eight years.
The couple allegedly claimed supernatural powers and said black magic threatened the woman’s family.
Police say payments were made through cash, ATM transactions and cheques from September 2017 to April 2025.
The woman allegedly sold gold jewellery, agricultural land and her shop to fund the payments.
NRI Coastal Police booked the accused under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Maharashtra’s anti-black magic law.
