Uttar Pradesh to Fully Fund Disability Rehabilitation Centers
The Uttar Pradesh government is going to start paying for all the centers that help people with disabilities.
These centers provide check-ups, tools, and training to help people.
Right now, the national government only pays for a few of them.
The state government will now use its own money, about 12 crore rupees each year, to fund all 38 centers.
This will help more people and give them a better life.
The state is also setting up new centers in different areas to help more people get help closer to where they live.
Uttar Pradesh government will fully fund all 38 District Disability Rehabilitation Centers (DDRCs).
The move aims to strengthen service delivery and support for persons with disabilities.
Currently, only a few DDRCs receive financial support from the Government of India.
The state government has recommended an annual budget of approximately Rs 12 crore.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed the establishment of ‘Divyang Rehabilitation Centers’ in all 18 divisional headquarters.
