iPhone Air 2 tipped for early 2027 with dual cameras
Last year, Apple made a very thin phone called the iPhone Air.
Lots of people did not buy it because it had only one camera and the battery did not last very long.
Now Apple is working on a new version called the iPhone Air 2.
This new phone will have two cameras, so you can take wider pictures.
The battery will be a little bigger, so it should last longer.
It will also have a faster, smarter chip that uses less power.
New parts inside will help it connect to the internet and other devices more quickly.
The phone is expected to come out in early 2027, around the same time as the iPhone 18.
Apple is also making the small cutout at the top of the screen smaller.
If you liked how light and thin the first Air was, the new one might fix the things people did not like.
Apple's second-generation iPhone Air 2, codenamed "V62," is expected to launch in early 2027, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, analyst Jeff Pu, and leaker Digital Chat Station.
The iPhone Air 2 will reportedly add a secondary 48MP Ultra Wide lens alongside the main 48MP Fusion camera, enabling macro shooting and spatial video for Apple Vision Pro.
Battery capacity is said to increase from 3,149 mAh to approximately 3,500 mAh, an 11% boost aimed at addressing a key complaint about the original model.
The device is expected to feature TSMC's 2nm A20 Pro chip plus Apple's custom C2 modem and N2 networking chip supporting Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.
Soft sales of the original iPhone Air prompted Apple to shift the Air 2 to a spring launch cycle in 2027 alongside the iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e, separate from autumn iPhone Pro releases.
