Bhopal: Domestic Violence Survivors Gain Independence Through Delivery Jobs
Some women in Bhopal who have survived domestic violence are getting a chance to work as delivery drivers and bike taxi operators.
This is happening through a program called the Saksham Project, run by ActionAid Association and Mahila Manch Foundation.
The women will learn how to ride scooters and will be prepared to work for companies like Blue Dart, Zomato, Swiggy, and Rapido.
The program will start in Bhopal and then move to Indore.
The training will help them gain skills, feel more confident, and become more independent.
Earlier efforts to train women for other driving jobs weren't as successful, as women felt uncomfortable driving those vehicles.
