NCP MLA Questions BMC Commissioner on BJP HQ Land Deal
Imagine a big plot of land that was supposed to be used for a long, long time, like a special park.
It was given out a long time ago by the British.
After many years, the time for using it ended.
Some people who had a part of the land did not renew their permission.
Then, someone else tried to buy this land.
A politician named Rohit Pawar is asking why this land was sold and if it was done the right way.
He is worried that if this land can be sold, other special lands might be sold too.
The ruling party says they followed all the rules to buy the land with their own money.
The city's leaders are looking into the questions asked.
NCP-SP MLA Rohit Pawar questioned the BMC commissioner regarding the land deal for the new BJP headquarters.
Pawar raised concerns that the land is leased, its lease was not renewed, and questioned the process of its sale.
He asked why an auction was not held and how the land, previously mortgaged with banks, was sold so quickly.
The BMC commissioner has agreed to provide a written response to Pawar's questions.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis stated that the BJP purchased the land following all BMC rules at their own expense.
