Jain Community Hospitals Care for Birds
In Gurugram, there's a special hospital just for birds, run by kind people who follow Jainism.
They take care of birds that are hurt or sick, like pigeons, parrots, and even peacocks.
The hospital has treated over 100,000 birds and released more than 22,000 back into the wild.
They feed the birds fruits, vegetables, and special food.
The doctors also teach people to be nice to birds and not keep them in cages.
Sometimes, birds get hurt from things people do, like flying kites with sharp strings.
The hospital helps these birds too.
The doctors wish people would think more about the animals and birds in their cities.
The Bird Charity Hospital in Gurugram, run by the Jain Mandir trust, provides free treatment for injured and sick birds.
The hospital treats around 20-25 new bird cases daily and currently houses about 450 birds, including pigeons, parrots, eagles, and peacocks.
Since its establishment in 2009, the hospital has treated over 100,000 birds and released more than 22,000 healed birds.
The hospital follows a strict vegetarian diet for the birds, using fruits, vegetables, grain, and paneer for non-vegetarian birds like eagles.
The hospital also educates the public on the importance of not keeping birds in captivity and the inhumanity of such practices.
