BJP Urges Official Recognition of Telangana Liberation Day
The BJP in Telangana wants the state government to officially celebrate September 17th as Telangana Liberation Day.
They believe it is important to remember the day Hyderabad became free from its old rulers, the Nizams.
The BJP leader, N. Ramchander Rao, reminded everyone of the sacrifices made by those who fought for freedom.
He also talked about how Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel helped end the Nizam's rule and bring Telangana into India.
The BJP has been asking for this recognition for over 20 years and highlights that the Indian Army and Central forces already commemorate the occasion.
