Mumbai: Road Collapses, MMRCL to Rebuild Girgaon Road Section
A road in Mumbai caved in because of work being done nearby.
The road will be fixed by the Mumbai Metro company, MMRCL.
The city officials checked and said the cave-in was probably caused by digging too deep for a new building.
The road collapsed near a metro station, causing traffic changes while the road is fixed.
No one was hurt.
A portion of Babasaheb Jaykar Marg in Girgaon, Mumbai, caved in on Monday.
MMRCL will reconstruct the affected road section.
BMC officials found no leakage from the water main, attributing the cave-in to soil movement caused by MMRCL's deep excavation.
The road collapse occurred near the Girgaon Metro station, part of the Aqua 3 line.
Traffic is diverted, and the road will be closed for 300 meters until repairs are complete.
