Andhra Pradesh Targets One Lakh Youth Jobs Through Skill Development

Andhra Pradesh is running programmes to teach people skills for jobs.

Minister Nara Lokesh reviewed these programmes with government officials.

Officials said 5.43 lakh people had received jobs or livelihood opportunities through the department.

They reported that 76% of participants found placements, compared with 64% across India.

Job fairs helped 1.02 lakh young people get jobs.

A state training organisation reported training 41,288 people in 2024.

Lokesh set a goal of helping one lakh youths find employment every year.

Officials will upgrade 192 training centres and improve their links with companies.

The state also wants to connect its overseas employment organisation with the training programme.

The reports differ on whether the annual target is being assigned to APSSDC generally or specifically to CEDAP.
