Kolkata Launches EV Dashboard to Locate Charging Stations
Imagine a map that helps electric car owners in Kolkata find places to charge their cars.
That's what TERI created!
This map shows where the charging stations are located and also looks ahead to see how many more will be needed in the future.
It's like a guide to help people switch to electric cars, which are better for the environment.
Right now, there are about 166 charging spots shown on the map, but many electric vehicles, like e-rickshaws, are not even counted on the map.
This is part of a bigger plan to make Kolkata have a cleaner environment.
TERI launched an EV dashboard and interactive map to help Kolkata motorists find charging stations.
The web portal projects long-term charging requirements up to 2050.
The map displays 166 existing charging stations for over 15,000 registered EVs.
The portal addresses the low public awareness about charging station locations.
Bengal aims to have 1,260 electric buses by 2025.
