Anahat Singh's Historic Run Ends Early Due to Injury
Anahat Singh, a young squash player from India, made history by reaching the final of a big tournament in Australia.
During the match, she hurt her ankle and had to stop playing.
Although she didn't win, it was still a great achievement because no other Indian woman had ever made it to the final of this type of tournament.
She had also won a medal at a world junior competition and has been doing very well recently, with several wins in 2024 and early 2025.
Squash will also be in the Olympics for the first time in 2028.
Anahat Singh, 17, retired from the NSW Squash Bega Open final due to an ankle injury.
Singh became the first Indian woman to reach the final of a PSA World Tour Copper-level event.
She was defeated by Egypt's Habiba Hani, trailing 4-10 in the fourth game.
Singh won a bronze medal at the World Junior Championships earlier this year.
Squash will be a sport at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics.
