Three Asiatic Lion Cubs Born at Sanjay Gandhi National Park
Three new Asiatic lion cubs were born at Sanjay Gandhi National Park in Mumbai.
The parents, Lion Manas and Lioness Bharati, were brought from a zoo in Gujarat as part of a special program to help protect and breed these lions.
This is a big deal because it's only the second time in many years that these lions have been born in the park.
The park now has eight pure Asiatic lions, which is great for conservation.
The cubs will stay in cages for now but will be moved to a lion safari when they grow up.
The park is special because it's the only place in Maharashtra where you can see tigers, lions, and leopards all in one place.
Three Asiatic lion cubs were born on January 11, 2024, at Sanjay Gandhi National Park in Mumbai.
The parents, Lion Manas and Lioness Bharati, were part of an exchange program from Sakkarbaug Zoo in Gujarat.
This is the second instance of Asiatic lion birth in the park, the first being in January 2023.
