Odisha Opposition Criticizes BJP on Rape Cases
In Odisha, India, the opposition parties BJD and Congress are criticizing the BJP government for how they handle rape cases.
They say the government's 'zero tolerance' policy is not enough because rape cases are still happening.
They mentioned that between June 2024 and July 2025, there were 2,933 rape cases and 8,270 kidnapping cases in the state.
Recently, three young girls were allegedly abused, and the opposition says the government is not doing enough to protect women.
The BJP government, however, says they have increased women's safety measures and that crime rates have decreased since they took power.
They also mentioned that they arrested the person involved in the recent case quickly.
