Volunteers aid Divyang devotees during Dhenkanal rituals
During a big festival in Dhenkanal, volunteers from the Bajrang Club helped people with disabilities, called Divyang devotees, to see the gods.
The government didn't make any special plans, but the volunteers provided special tricycles and wheelchairs so everyone could move around easily and enjoy the festival.
They even took people from their homes to the festival.
Many people were very thankful for the help, and a high-ranking government official also watched the festival.
The volunteers were praised for their kindness and hard work.
Volunteers from the Bajrang Club provided specialised tricycles and mobility support for Divyang devotees during the Suna Besha and Niladri Bije rituals in Dhenkanal.
The government made no special arrangements for disabled access, but volunteers stepped in to assist.
Social workers provided disabled-friendly electric wheelchairs to ensure everyone could comfortably experience the ‘darshan’ of the deities.
The district police administration gave permission to the club to assist senior citizens and devotees with disabilities.
Hundreds of Divyang devotees and senior citizens had ‘darshan’ of the deities, supported by volunteers like Nita Panda.
