Medaram Goddesses Arrive, Jaggery Offered as Gold
Two important goddesses, Sammakka and Sarlamma, have arrived at a special place called Medaram.
Many people came to see them and pray.
The goddesses were put on special platforms so everyone could see them.
Important people like the Telangana Governor and other officials were there too.
The main goddess, Sammakka, was brought in a special red container, and there were celebrations and prayers.
The police even fired shots in the air to welcome her.
This is a big event called Maha Jatara, and people are very happy to be part of it.
During this event, people offer jaggery, which they call 'gold,' to the goddesses.
This tradition comes from a story where a poor devotee was told by the goddess that his jaggery is as valuable as gold.
Jaggery is also believed to have health benefits and is thought to keep away flies, showing the divine presence of the goddesses.
Sammakka and Sarlamma, the Medaram forest goddesses, arrived and were installed on their respective platforms.
Thousands of devotees gathered to witness the historic event and seek darshan.
The Telangana Governor and other state officials, including Minister Seethakka and Collector Divakar, attended the event.
Sammakka was transported in a vermilion container from Chilukalagutta and installed amid celebrations and special prayers.
Devotees offer jaggery, locally revered as Bangaram (gold), as the most precious offering to the goddesses.
