Bihar Floods Worsen After Embankment Breaches In Saran

Heavy rains caused several rivers in Bihar to rise very high.

The Gandak River broke through embankments in parts of Saran district.

Floodwater entered villages, farmland, homes and roads.

The Central Water Commission issued an Orange alert for 28 places.

This means the water was above the danger level but had not reached the highest recorded level.

Rescue teams with boats were sent to help people.

Helicopters dropped thousands of food packets in flooded areas.

Villagers also helped rescue 12 deer near Muzaffarpur.
