Tata Sons Dividend Income Likely to Slip in FY25
Imagine a company called Tata Sons that owns parts of many other big companies like TCS and Tata Motors.
These companies pay Tata Sons money called dividends, like a reward for owning part of them.
This year, Tata Sons is expected to get less of these dividends than last year.
This is because TCS, one of the biggest companies Tata Sons owns, is paying out a little less money this year.
This is the first time in a long time that this has happened.
It might make it a bit harder for Tata Sons to invest in new businesses.
However, the situation could change if TCS increases its dividend payments in the future.
Tata Sons' dividend income is expected to decrease by 3.5% in FY25 to Rs 36,514 crore.
This marks the first year-on-year decline in nine years for Tata Sons' dividend income.
The decline is primarily due to a reduction in dividend payout from Tata Consultancy Services (TCS).
TCS is paying a total of Rs 46,612 crore in FY25, down from Rs 47,467 crore in FY24.
Standalone operating income for Tata Sons in FY24 was Rs 43,767 crore, up 25.3% from the previous year.
