Delhi Police Promises Stricter Charges After CJP Protest
A group called the Cockroach Janta Party protested outside a Delhi police station.
They said a man hurt the father of a young protester during a demonstration.
They also said the man later threatened the girl and her family.
The group pointed to a video in which the man allegedly talked about the assault and political connections.
Several politicians and the Indian Youth Congress joined the protest.
Delhi Police promised to add more serious criminal charges to an existing case within 72 hours.
These charges may include attempt to murder, POCSO provisions and parts of the SC/ST Act.
Protest leaders said they would hold bigger demonstrations if the promise was not kept.

The group cited a viral video in which the man allegedly claimed responsibility and said political connections helped him avoid arrest.
