Vizag Zoo Reports 128 Captive Animal and Bird Births
Vizag’s zoo has welcomed 128 baby animals and birds.
They include tortoises, wild boars, deer, birds, hyenas, porcupines and marmosets.
Zoo workers used special machines to hatch some eggs safely.
Ten red jungle fowl chicks hatched after being carefully monitored for 21 days.
A blue-gold macaw chick is being hand-reared and given special food.
Three striped hyena cubs are being cared for by their mother while staff watch them.
The zoo is also giving special food and supplements to the marmosets.
These births show that the zoo is working to help protect wildlife.
Visitors may see some of the newborns in their enclosures under supervision.
Indira Gandhi Zoological Park recorded 128 captive births across 12 animal and bird species.
The births included 40 star tortoises, 35 wild boars, 20 spotted deer and three striped hyena cubs.
Artificial incubation helped hatch 10 red jungle fowl chicks and one blue-gold macaw chick.
Veterinary staff are hand-rearing the macaw and monitoring the hyena cubs, marmosets and other newborns.
Zoo officials said the births strengthen conservation breeding and could increase public awareness of wildlife protection.
