Rupee recovers from all-time low
The Indian rupee got a little stronger on Tuesday, going up to 91.73 against the US dollar.
This happened because the dollar became a bit weaker.
The rupee had hit a record low of 91.97 last week.
The stock markets in India, called Sensex and Nifty, are down by over 4% this month because of problems like money leaving the country, a weak rupee, and worries about the world situation.
The Indian government's budget coming up is important for how the markets will do.
The price of oil and higher interest rates around the world are also making people nervous about investing.
The rupee is still under pressure because of these issues, but some experts think it might get better after the budget.
However, if the dollar gets stronger again, the rupee could fall even more.
The rupee recovered to 91.73 against the US dollar in early trade on Tuesday.
The dollar index retreated from elevated levels, contributing to the rupee's recovery.
The rupee had hit a historic low of 91.97 on January 23, 2026.
Indian stock markets, Sensex and Nifty, have fallen over 4% this month due to foreign fund outflows and geopolitical risks.
The Union Budget 2026-27 is expected to balance growth support and macro stability.
