Rajasthan Village Treasure Hunt Ends in Hoax
In a village in Rajasthan, people found a big pot buried in the ground.
They thought it had gold inside and got very excited.
The police and officials came to dig it up.
But when they opened the pot, there was only dust inside.
It turned out that two men had tricked the villagers by saying there was hidden treasure.
The police caught these men.
This isn't the first time something like this happened.
A few years ago, in another place, people also thought there was hidden gold, but it was also a trick.
Villagers in Rajasthan discovered a pot they believed contained gold, leading to a frenzy.
Excavation by officials revealed the pot only contained dust, debunking the treasure rumors.
Two local con artists were arrested for spreading the hoax and defrauding villagers.
The gang's modus operandi involved burying items and claiming hidden treasure for payment.
Similar incidents of false treasure claims have occurred in the past, such as in Unnao, Uttar Pradesh in 2013.
