Maharashtra to Hike Vehicle Taxes on Luxury, CNG, and Goods Carriers
Maharashtra is making some vehicles more expensive.
They're raising taxes on fancy cars, cars that run on CNG/LNG, and trucks.
The most expensive cars will now have a higher tax.
Depending on the price, the tax on petrol and diesel cars will increase.
Cars that use CNG or LNG will also cost more because of a tax increase.
Trucks and other goods carriers will be taxed based on how much they cost now, not how much they weigh.
Electric cars will not be taxed.
Maharashtra is increasing taxes on high-end vehicles, CNG/LNG vehicles, and goods carriers.
One-time tax cap rises to Rs 30 lakh, affecting cars over Rs 20 lakh.
Petrol car tax is 11-13% and diesel car tax is 13-15% depending on price.
CNG/LNG vehicles will see a 1% tax increase across price brackets.
Goods carriers will now be taxed based on price rather than gross weight.
