Guntur Students Set World Record With Green Ganesha Idols

Guntur held a special Green Ganesha programme for students.

It was organised by the Guntur Municipal Corporation as part of the ‘Nava Guntur’ initiative.

On Friday, 25,000 students from 55 schools made clay Ganesha idols at the same time.

This achievement was recognised by the World Book of Records.

The programme taught children how to celebrate festivals while helping protect the environment.

Clay idols can help reduce the use of Plaster of Paris idols.

They can also reduce the use of idols painted with chemical colours.

Officials said the activity carried this environmental message to many families in the city.
