GAIL Q3 Profit Falls 56%
GAIL, a big gas company in India, recently announced that their profit for the last three months (Q3) was much lower than last year.
They made ₹1,729 crore, which is a big drop from ₹3,952 crore in the same time last year.
Their total income also went down to ₹35,640.81 crore.
The company is having trouble with their petrochemicals business, which is losing more money.
They also made less money from selling gas.
However, they did some good things too, like finishing a big new pipeline and starting a new business in GIFT City.
They also decided to give some money back to their shareholders as a dividend.
GAIL's consolidated net profit for Q3 FY26 fell 56% year-on-year to ₹1,729 crore due to widening losses in the petrochemicals business and a decline in gas marketing income.
Total income for Q3 FY26 was ₹35,640.81 crore, down from ₹37,315.11 crore in Q3 FY25.
Profit from natural gas marketing fell to ₹854.52 crore in Q3 FY26 from ₹2,952.57 crore in Q3 FY25.
Losses from the petrochemicals business widened to ₹493.04 crore in Q3 FY26 from ₹3.30 crore in Q3 FY25.
GAIL commissioned 1,182 kilometers of the Mumbai Nagpur Jharsuguda Pipeline, expanding its operational natural gas pipeline network to over 18,000 kilometers.
