Bombay High Court Grants One-Time Exam Relief to Law Students

Bombay High Court Grants One-Time Exam Relief to Law Students

Some students at a college in Pune were not allowed to take their end-of-year exams because they did not come to enough classes.

Their attendance was too low, between 46% and just over 54%.

The college said they could not take the exams.

So about 41 students went to a big court called the Bombay High Court for help.

The judges said the students should be allowed to take their exams this one time.

They said this was a special one-time relief just for the 2025-26 school year.

The judges also said other students with the same problem could get the same help, not just the 41 who asked.

The judges used an earlier order from the Supreme Court to support their decision.

The college and university had to arrange extra exams within four weeks for students who missed theirs.

For future years, the usual attendance requirements will still apply.
