Andhra Pradesh Minister Proposes Friday Dry Days Against Rising Malaria

Andhra Pradesh is taking steps to stop diseases spread by mosquitoes.

The health minister warned that more rain could increase dengue and malaria.

Officials must watch places where infections are growing.

They were told to spray insecticide in affected tribal areas.

More mosquito nets will also be given to eligible people.

The minister suggested making every Friday a “Dry Day.”

On that day, people and health workers could remove places where mosquitoes breed.

By the end of August, the state had recorded 7,895 malaria cases, which was higher than last year.
