Elephants Venerated on Vishwakarma Puja in Gorumara and Jaldapara National Parks
Imagine a special day for the elephants in the forest!
It's Vishwakarma Puja, and people celebrate these amazing animals.
Mahouts (elephant trainers), their families, and even tourists came together to pray for the elephants.
They bathed the elephants, decorated them with colors, and gave them lots of yummy fruits.
The elephants, who are like the forest department's workers, got a day off.
Tourists can now watch the elephants, but they have to keep a safe distance.
It's all to show respect for the elephants and help keep them safe!
Mahouts, assistants, families, and tourists gathered to venerate forest elephants on Vishwakarma Puja.
Priests performed rituals to honor the elephants, considered the mount of Lord Vishwakarma.
The elephants were bathed, decorated, and offered fruits at various locations within the national parks.
Domesticated elephants received a day off, as they are considered employees of the forest department.
Tourists can watch the elephants being bathed, but are now asked to keep a distance for safety.
