India's First Indigenous Runway Cleaner Delivered to Noida Airport
India just made its first runway cleaning machine all by itself!
This special vehicle helps keep airport runways clean and safe by picking up tiny dangerous things like nails and sharp metal pieces.
It also sucks up dust and removes slippery algae.
A company in Bengaluru called On Lawn Technology Solutions made this machine with help from a company in Switzerland.
The Indian government gave the machine to the Noida International Airport to use.
This is a big deal because it shows India can make important things like this on its own, which is part of a program called 'Make in India'.
The machine will help airplanes land and take off more safely.
India's first indigenously manufactured runway cleaning vehicle was delivered to Noida International Airport Limited (NIAL).
The vehicle was developed by Bengaluru-based On Lawn Technology Solutions Limited in collaboration with Switzerland's M/s Bucher Municipal.
The machine enhances aviation safety by removing hazardous objects like nails, dust, and algae from runways.
Minister M.B. Patil handed over the keys to two such vehicles, emphasizing the importance of such innovations for the 'Make in India' initiative.
The vehicle was developed under the 'Make in India' program and assembled at On Lawn's facility in Doddaballapur.
