Gurgaon Metro Loop to Connect Old City, Reduce Commutes
Gurgaon is building a new 28‑kilometer metro line that will circle the city and connect many neighborhoods that were previously left out of the metro system.
The line will start at Millennium City Centre, go through places like Cyber City and Udyog Vihar, and finish at Sector 101 on the Dwarka Expressway.
It will have special stations where you can switch trains without leaving the paid area, making it easier to travel to Delhi or other parts of the city.
The line will use double‑decker tracks in narrow streets to avoid taking up too much land.
Construction is already underway, and the project is expected to finish by August 2028, with about 11% of the work done so far.
28.5‑km loop will link Millennium City Centre to Sector 101, covering 27 stations.
Key interchanges at Cyber City and Millennium City Centre allow platform‑to‑platform transfers with Delhi Metro, Rapid Metro, and future corridors.
Double‑decker elevated tracks and multi‑modal hubs will reduce land acquisition and traffic congestion in Old Gurgaon.
Construction is in heavy‑construction mode, with first package (15.2 km) awarded to Dilip Buildcon‑Ranjit Buildcon JV, targeting August 2028 completion.
As of July 2023, the project is 11 % complete, with World Bank funding for priority‑2 Old Gurgaon stretch.
