Assam MBBS Students Achieve Record High Pass Rates in 2024
Imagine a school for doctors where they are learning how to be real-life doctors, not just memorizing facts.
In 2024, medical students in Assam did amazing in their final exams.
Almost all of them passed on their first try, which is a record.
This jump in success is because they are now learning in a new way, called CBME, which focuses on how doctors actually work.
They are learning to use what they know in real situations and making sure the students are well prepared.
Second-try pass rates have also been good.
Overall, lots of students passed, showing that medical education in Assam is doing very well.
Assam MBBS students achieved a record-breaking 91.88% first-attempt pass rate in 2024.
This is an over 11% increase from the 80.30% recorded in 2023.
The introduction of the Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME) curriculum in 2019 is seen as a contributing factor.
Second-attempt pass rates have remained steady and were at 90.91% in 2024.
The total pass rate in 2024 reached 91.77%, a significant increase from 82.31% in 2023.
