High Court Hands 2011 Behala Students’ Disappearance Probe to CBI
16 years on, Central Bureau of Investigation to probe disappearance of two Behala students - Telegraph India · telegraphindia.com

Two students from Behala disappeared in April 2011.

They were both 19 years old.

Their families said they received calls asking for ransom and paid the money, but the students did not come home.

State police and the CID investigated, but could not find them.

In 2020, the state told a court that investigators had found no evidence.

The families later asked for a fresh investigation.

They said old CCTV footage might be more useful with newer technology.

The Calcutta High Court has now asked the CBI to investigate the case and report back within six weeks.
