Delhi University Updates Physics Curriculum
Delhi University has changed the physics course for students in their final year.
They moved Electrodynamics to a required course and made Advanced Statistical Mechanics an optional one.
This change starts in the 2026-27 school year.
But some teachers are upset because the change was announced after classes had already started.
They say it causes confusion and wastes time for both students and teachers.
They think the university should have waited until the next school year to make these changes.
Delhi University updated the BSc (Hons) Physics curriculum under UGCF 2022.
Electrodynamics is now a Discipline Specific Core (DSC) course.
Advanced Statistical Mechanics is now a Discipline Specific Elective (DSE).
Changes are effective from the 2026-27 academic session.
Faculty members criticized the timing and implementation of the changes.
