Noida Woman's Viral Video Shows Waterlogged Basement in Premium Society
A lady named Aanchal Singh lives in a fancy apartment building in Noida, a city in India.
After it rained, she found the basement of her building filled with water.
She took a video of the flooded basement and shared it on Instagram.
In the video, she joked that the basement came with a 'free swimming pool.'
She said her family pays more than 30,000 rupees every month just for rent, plus maintenance money.
She wondered why people pay so much money if the building does not even stay dry when it rains.
The parking area was also under water, making it hard to reach their cars.
Some people who saw the video said the government should fix the sewers.
Others said lots of buildings get flooded in very heavy rain.
Her video made many people talk about whether expensive homes are really worth the money.
Aanchal Singh, a resident of a premium Noida society, shared an Instagram video showing severe waterlogging in her building's basement after rainfall.
In the video, she sarcastically called the flooded basement a 'complimentary swimming pool,' citing ₹30,000+ rent, ₹3–4K maintenance, and ₹2 crore flats.
She questioned whether Noida residents are really getting the standard of living they pay for, noting she has heard society representatives claim they work for residents' welfare for six years.
The flooded basement also made it difficult and unsafe for residents to access their vehicles in the parking area.
The video drew mixed reactions: some users blamed the government and backing-up sewers, others criticized the society's AOA for inviting unnecessary vendors, and some noted even ₹20 crore kothis and ₹10 crore flats get waterlogged in heavy rain.

Defenders: Government, sewers and heavy rain are to blame
Who is responsible for the waterlogged basement?
Critics: Premium society residents are not getting value for money
The society's management and AOA — residents pay rent, maintenance and construction charges for years, yet basic facilities remain unaddressed, and the AOA is busy inviting unnecessary vendors instead of fixing upkeep.
Defenders: Government, sewers and heavy rain are to blame
The government — sewers start flowing back in most cases, so the flooding is a public infrastructure problem rather than the society's fault.
Are premium societies delivering what residents pay for?
Critics: Premium society residents are not getting value for money
No — paying ₹30,000+ rent, ₹3–4K maintenance and buying ₹2 crore apartments should come with functional basics, and the six-year-old promise that society representatives work for residents' welfare has not reached the basement.
Defenders: Government, sewers and heavy rain are to blame
The problem is not unique to this society — water accumulates even in areas with ₹20 crore kothis and ₹10 crore flats, so heavy rain makes waterlogging inevitable at every price level.
