Sarcastic Messages Disrupt Putin's Annual Press Conference
During a big event where Russian President Vladimir Putin was talking to the public, some funny and critical messages suddenly appeared on the screens.
These messages made jokes about Putin and the country's problems.
One message even asked why people in Russia are worse off than people in a faraway country called Papua New Guinea.
Another message questioned how the ruling party keeps winning elections.
The organizers didn't say anything about these messages, and Putin didn't mention them either.
It was a surprise because this event is usually very planned and controlled.
People also asked Putin about aliens, his secret trips around Moscow, and even one man proposed to his girlfriend live on air.
Putin answered some of these questions but didn't talk about the sarcastic messages.
Sarcastic messages briefly appeared on screens during Putin's annual press conference and direct line phone-in.
Messages criticized the state of Russia's economy and the legitimacy of elections.
One message compared the economic situation of Russians to that of people in Papua New Guinea.
The Kremlin did not immediately comment on the incident, and Putin did not address the messages.
The event is typically meticulously planned and choreographed, making the appearance of the messages unusual.
