Jalgaon Social Work Students Urged to Promote Constitutional Values
In a city called Jalgaon, a college is holding a special event called Social Work Fortnight, which lasts from August 9 to 23.
People who study social work learn how to help others and make society better.
A guest speaker named Nikhil Ranjankar came to talk to the students.
He said social workers should help make sure everyone is treated fairly and kindly.
He talked about the Indian Constitution, which is like a big rulebook for the country.
The Constitution promises everyone justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity, which mean fairness, freedom, being treated the same, and caring for each other.
He said many people, like poor families, children, people with disabilities, and senior citizens, do not always know their rights.
Social workers should teach these people about the rights the Constitution gives them.
He also said that along with rights, everyone has duties, like being a good citizen.
The college principal, Dr Rakesh Chaudhary, was also at the program.
A Social Work Fortnight is being observed from August 9 to 23, jointly organized by the Loksevak Madhukarrao Chaudhari College of Social Work and the Maharashtra Social Work Educators Association.
Keynote speaker Nikhil Ranjankar urged social work students to promote constitutional values, social justice, and equality.
Ranjankar said the Indian Constitution guarantees every citizen justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity, and is the foundation for a dignified life.
He stressed that social workers should take constitutional awareness to marginalized, vulnerable, and exploited sections, including women, children, persons with disabilities, senior citizens, and socially backward communities.
He called for understanding Fundamental Rights, Fundamental Duties, and Directive Principles of State Policy, and for constitutional study to become part of students' professional outlook.
