Enforcement Directorate Raids Six Kolkata Locations in AMP Case

The Enforcement Directorate is investigating an alleged fraud involving the AMP chit fund.

It searched six places in Kolkata and 17 places in Indore.

Investigators suspect that money collected through the chit fund was moved into construction and real estate projects.

They are checking homes and businesses linked to a businessman, a construction-company director and investors.

The agency is also trying to find where the money went and who may have received it.

The searches began after an official case report was registered.

They came one day after businessman Amit Gangopadhyay was arrested in a separate alleged illegal-construction matter connected to the investigation.

Officials said Gangopadhyay did not cooperate during questioning.

The allegations are still being investigated.
