Odisha BJP Chief Accuses BJD of 'Cheap Politics' Ahead of Nuapada Bypoll
Imagine two political parties, the BJP and the BJD, are talking about an upcoming election in a place called Nuapada.
The leader of the BJP in Odisha, Mr. Samal, said that the BJD party is not talking about good ideas for making Nuapada better.
Instead, he said they are using tricky and sad words to try and get people to vote for them.
Mr. Samal also reminded everyone that the BJD had a falling out with the BJP a long time ago, back in 2009.
He said that the BJD shouldn't call others traitors when they might have been the ones to break promises before.
He asked the BJD leader, Mr. Patnaik, to speak nicely during the election.
Mr. Samal pointed out that his own party, the BJP, has helped many women and farmers recently.
He also asked what the BJD has done for Nuapada in the 24 years they have been in charge in the state.
The BJD party had not responded to Mr. Samal's comments yet.
Odisha BJP president Manmohan Samal accused the BJD of engaging in 'cheap politics' and using 'hollow and emotional statements' during the Nuapada by-election campaign.
Samal criticized the BJD's use of terms like 'Beimaan' (traitor) and 'vote theft', urging for dignity in public discourse.
He recalled the BJD breaking its alliance with the BJP in 2009, suggesting the 'traitor' label might be more applicable to the BJD.
Samal questioned the BJD's development record over 24 years in governance and highlighted alleged lack of responsiveness from CM Naveen Patnaik towards the family of a former ailing MLA.
The BJP leader contrasted the BJD's approach with the BJP's focus on development and highlighted recent benefits to women (Subhadra Yojana) and farmers under central government schemes.
