Kerala HC asks Centre to decide on allowing 'Bougainvillea' entry for National Film Awards
A movie called 'Bougainvillea' wanted to enter the big National Film Awards in India.
But the people who made the movie said the website to sign up didn't work properly, so they couldn't submit it on time.
They asked a court for help.
The court told the government ministry in charge to look at their request and decide if they can still accept the movie, even though it's a bit late.
The ministry has to make a decision very soon.
The Kerala High Court has ordered the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to review a request concerning the film 'Bougainvillea'.
The production house of 'Bougainvillea' failed to register the film for the 72nd National Film Awards, citing technical issues with the official portal.
The court cannot definitively confirm if technical problems prevented the submission but has directed the ministry to consider the plea for an extension.
The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting is required to examine the grounds raised by the petitioner and issue a reasoned order within 10 days.
'Bougainvillea,' directed by Amal Neerad, has previously won seven awards at the Kerala State Film Awards.
