Greens Oppose Cusat Playground Project Due to Tree Removal

Cochin University of Science and Technology (Cusat) wants to build a playground.

However, an environmental group called the Cochin Natural History Society is worried.

They are concerned that the university plans to cut down trees to make space for the playground.

The society says that this area has many trees and plants, including some rare ones.

They believe that there are other places on campus where the playground could be built without removing trees.

The university says it doesn't plan on removing many trees, just bushes and other small plants.

The society won the State Biodiversity Award in 2021-22 for planting trees.
