India Coffee Output Expected to Hit Record High
The Indian Coffee Board predicts a record coffee harvest for the 2025-26 season, starting October 2025.
The estimate is 4.03 lakh tonnes, an increase of about 11% from the previous year.
This rise is due to larger harvests of both Arabica and Robusta varieties.
Traditional growing regions like Karnataka, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu are expected to produce the most.
However, heavy rains may have damaged the crop, potentially decreasing the yield.
Some experts have expressed concern that the final output may not meet initial projections.
The Coffee Board estimates a record coffee output of 4.03 lakh tonnes for 2025-26.
This is an 11% increase compared to the previous year.
Arabica output is projected at 1.18 lakh tonnes, and Robusta at 2.84 lakh tonnes.
Traditional growing areas (Karnataka, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu) are expected to produce 3.85 lakh tonnes.
Excessive rain is causing concern about potential yield drops.
